Two Last Minute Coffee Inspired Ideas to Make Your Thanksgiving Special

Looking to make your Thanksgiving party a hit? Not sure what to serve after guests gobble up the turkey? Get noticed with our unique coffee inspired ideas that will leave your guests begging for seconds.

1. Coffee Flights and Pumpkin Pie

When the table is cleared of turkey and mashed potatoes, bring out the sweet stuff in style. Slice up pumpkin pie paired with coffee tastings in small glass cups or shot glasses for sipping. We suggest going to your local cafe or roaster and buying a light roast, medium roast, and dark roast. If you are looking for something special, go for a single-origin light roast and a medium roast blend. Make sure you ask for the freshest beans they’ve got. Begin the brew when people are eating dinner, so it is warm and ready to go in time for dessert. Give your guests 2-3 kinds of coffee to choose from and ask them how the flavor of the dessert changes with the different coffee tastes. Similar to fabulous wines, great coffee can enhance the flavor of what you are eating. This coffee tasting treat will fill your dining room with laughter and cheers all around. Tasty tip: Put the different kinds of coffee beans into glass jars or cups. Pass them around before people decide which coffee to try. Explain how some coffees have hints of chocolate, while others have a fruity taste or a smooth, bold kick.

2. Delicious & Easy Coffee Dessert

After making a beautiful Thanksgiving meal, the last thing you want to do is labor over dessert. We chose a simple recipe with a classic combination everyone loves: coffee and ice cream! This dessert is called an affogato. It is a traditional Italian dessert with creamy scoops of ice cream drizzled with a piping hot espresso.

These will be the perfect, easy dessert for your guests with a stunning presentation. Simply scoop the ice cream into festive bowls or martini glasses for an added decorative touch. Allow the guests to pour the espresso over the ice cream themselves, or place the glasses on a tray and pour the espresso in each cup for guests to take. Simple, easy, delicious.
